History

North East Theological Seminary (NETS) is a continued venture of Peniel Gospel Team (PGT) to evangelize the Himalayan region. It began in the year 1984 as a small missionary training institute for lay leaders in Hindi medium. Over the years, the ministries of PGT expanded with more missionaries and churches being planted; so there was a felt need for systematic training of Pastors and lay leaders. As a result from September 2008, it was re-organized with an addition of English medium for the training of more people for those who have a desire to learn God’s Word systematically leading to advance studies.

Peniel Gospel Team was established in the 1973 with a burden to evangelize the Himalayan region of the eastern part of India. The Lord has blessed this mission organization under the efficient leadership of Rev. Mammen Joseph, the Founder-Director. The work is concentrated in the northern part West Bengal state.
